C. FREDRICK CORNFORTH, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board
Fred is a natural leader with a diverse background. His passion for people, love of development, and partnering abilities have led him into the business of developing housing for people who are struggling to have a decent place to live. He has mastered several affordable housing programs, including several Section 42 developments. As a result of this experience, CDI has played significant roles in the development of several projects. This experience has lead CDI to the forefront of affordable housing development in several programs.
Fred’s development experience goes beyond the U.S. borders. He has developed 8 orphanages in Mexico, Guatemala (2), Dominican Republic, and Thailand and has consulted on additional orphanages in Russia, Somalia, Cambodia, Brazil and Peru. Fred founded the nonprofit in 1994 as a way to help others in need. Over the years, it changed its name to CDI while evolving into an entrepreneurial nonprofit which constantly seeks to improve itself and find more efficient and effective ways to meet the shelter and social needs of people left behind in today’s booming economy.
